Building My Kit: Foundation Pt. 1

Since I have a few gigs coming up, it’s time for me to add to my kit. This go round, I’ll be doing more Caucasian women, so foundations and powders are needed!

There are quite a few brands of makeup that are widely used by the pro artist community, but not necessarily by consumers. In a few months, I’ll probably purchase the Neutral Graftobian Hi-Def Glamour Creme Super Palette. I’m also interested in the infamous RCMA Foundation Palettes. Before I order, I will most likely order some samples of the products. I’ve never used anything from either brand, but I figure it’s worth a shot! I’m really loving Camera Ready Cosmetics, Pro Artist Mary Erikson caters to the individuals in the artistry field! You absolutely must check out her site!

Celebrity MUA Billy B. swears by Face Atelier Ultra Pro Founations. I have watched him use them on several models. After seeing the results, I was instantly intrigued. In a perfect world, if I was making CRAZY good money, I would stock up on every shade of Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. Too me, it’s the ultimate. ‘Nuff said.

As of right now, it is in my best interest to do what I thought of all along. I bought a wide array of MAC Concealers a few months back, including Studio Finish, Select Moisturecover, Studio Stick and today, Studio Sculpt concealers. I haven’t purchased Select Cover Up for my kit, I suppose because I didn’t like the way it looked on myself. For sure, Studio Finish runs my kit. I own 10 shades, because it is so very versatile, you can keep it full coverage, or thin it down for a more sheer coverage. It can cover tatoo’s, birthmarks, moles, and everything else!!! If you’d like to see how I use it as a foundation, check out one of my first video tutorials on Youtube : Flawless Full Coverage Skin!

I cant wait for the NY Makeup show so I can check these foundation palettes out. I usually use Studio Tech but lugging those babies around is a bit much.

Sharon Gault was loving RCMA at the LA makeup Show. I bought the Three Custom Color Specialists kit from Alcone while in LA. It covers many complexions and is very small, potent, and portable. I spied lots of artists using it backstage at NY fashion week. My two cents :) See ya in NY in May :)

i have the rcma foundation palette that looks similar to the one in the photo above and it lasted me a long time and the shades are great but to be honest after i tried ben nye’s cream foundations i fell in love! they just blend soooo much easier and it just takes so little of the product to do a face.

just my opinion, hope it helps!

So which ones did you decide to get Erin? I love MUFE HD and Face Atelier Rocks especially for caucasian skin. Their shades only go but so dark however. I’ve used RCMA and DeShawn Hatcher also swears by Cinema Secrets, Mary is her mentor. :o ) I hope all is well w/ you!

OMG! Erin I ordered the Neutral Graftobian Hi-Def Glamour Creme Super Palette from Camera Ready Cosmetics. I LOVE IT! I got it just in time to use for a wedding and when I say flawless skin. OMG! Everyone was asking what kind of make up is it. I t well work it I think. It goes on smooth and easy to mix if needed. Later on I will try RCMA but for right now I’m in love with Graftobian.

Erin I purchased the graftobian pallette I believe it is the warm pallette and I love it!! I’ve been working on a short film project and used it and the actors loved it and so did I! Very blendable and even can be mixed with the other shades in the pallette to custom blend! I would definitely recommend it.
