Funky Brown Foodie: Korean Dinner at Shin Chon Garden

My honey took his favorite girls out to dinner this weekend.  In my attempt to upgrade myself and eat foods from other cultures, we ventured to Shin Chon Garden in Ellicott City.  Reviews stated it was an awesome place to go, newly renovated, very authentic, super tasty. We had two options, grill or barbecue.  We took the grill option, but we probably should have taken the bbq route. The only Korean meal I’ve ever had is fried chicken, and oh boy, it’s incredible.

We ordered the beef and chicken. Then, our server brings us a billion [aka 10 or so] small plates of extra food.  We had no freaking idea what was brought out to us [I wish I saw this blog review before I went]. I’m not only a picky eater, I’m a punk eater. I wanted to try some of the mystery items, but my eyes and brain just didn’t agree.  Either way, it was a fun experience.

I Love Korean BBQ! The meat is so tender and flavorful… next time try the bbq! We didn’t eat the “side” plates either… I know one of them was Kimchi (or maybe Kimchee) and I do NOT like that…

Shin Chon is one of my favorite korean restaurants! The side dishes are fun to try-my fave is the potato salad
