This range of foundations includes the lightest and darkest shades that MAC has ever made, plus some new shades in between. This is a BIG plus for MAC. When I used to work for them, there were many people I’d have to turn away because there were no shades for them. Please pay attention to the half shades toward the end of the spectrum. This is really great for us brown girls, because they’ve given us way more options. That’s almost 10 shades for us. Very nice.
Note: I would love to see every shade, but only received a few. My review is based on solely on the colors that I was able to touch, feel and wear.

Here’s a picture of me wearing Matchmaster foundation with Mary of My Hair My Way yesterday at the Oyin Handmade store. The foundation looks very natural, even though I did a medium-full coverage. I didn’t have my exact color, so I mixed 7.5 and 8.5. I’d like to think it was a pretty good match, but probably could have been better.
I was traumatized when I took this picture, because I never get to see my bare skin this close up! Anyway, here’s swatches of the foundation on my skin. I think that 8, or a mix of 7.5 and 8 would be awesome. When you blend the foundation in, it’s not a loud. My jawline is the darkest part of my face, so I rarely test for color there. I almost always wear more than one color as well.
Here’s a preview of my post on Friday (dress is from Gilt, love this site!). You can see that there was a big difference in my face and chest. I took the picture with natural light and no flash, but it looked as if the foundation had gotten darker throughout the day. I’m trying to take my tan into consideration, Also, my forehead is oil-slick city! This foundation wasn’t created specifically for oily skin, and I didn’t blot or apply powder throughout the day. I can’t really be mad at the situation on my nose and forehead, can I?
Conclusion
I did like the foundation, but I own so many that I adore, so it won’t be my go-to. . I’d say this is a good everyday foundation, but I don’t want to scream while jumping down in excitement over it. It is definitely an awesome concept. This entire post might change if I go to the counter to find my exact shade. If you decide to purchase, I’d definitely say to get matched professionally. Hopefully the above conversion chart will help. If you have a skin tone that’s hard to match for foundation, this may be your answer
