Grown folks told me I wouldn’t keep my shape forever. They were right.
The only time I had the washboard stomach was before I was 16, when I motivated myself to look life a swimmer to keep the boys interested. As the years went on, body parts started filling in. Now, my waist is a size 4 and my hips and butt are a 10. That’s all good if I wanted to be in rap video, but it’s time for me to tighten up. Don’t get me wrong, I love my body. I wouldn’t trade it in for anyone else’s. But, there are some things that are too loose.
I bought this pair of shoes last Fall. I found them in the back of my closet today, like that random awesome lipstick that you forgot you had. That’s a problem. Then I found this February fitness challenge from Personal Excellence blog. Can you say excited?! Here are some of the other things that I’m doing to get this body right!
Tae Bo has always done me good. It’s a little corny, but it gets the job done. I can’t find the tapes we had on VHS( don’t know why I’m looking for them, I don’t have a tape player!) but I found this at Five Below. I love the quick 5 or 10 minute workouts. I put Kim K’s DVD in this picture for no good reason.
With breakfast, lunch or dinner, I’m going to get back into the H2O flow. Not only does it quench my thirst, but it cleanses and quenches.
I’ll try to grab an apple or cucumber when I want a snack. My beloved Golden Oreos are just the catalyst to this tummy. Maybe I’ll keep bananas on my desk instead of loading up on McDonald’s for lunch.
Of the 700 reasons I could give to use Pinterest, their fitness sections rock! People “pin” the things that will motivate them to getting their bodies where they want them to be. My fitness board is called “I’m Bringin’ Sexy Back!” As you follow more people, you’ll find more great resources.
