Here’s what rocked my week:
1. My bestie Warren gave me a tour around Bloomberg Television, where he does hair and makeup for on-air talent. I got to see the makeup room, which, to be honest, wasn’t as huge and glamorous as I thought. I thought I’d see shelves up shelves upon shelves of fabulous powders, shadows and lipsticks. There was basically one big makeup drawer, containing products from Inglot, Make Up For Ever, Eve Pearl and MAC. Still a cool experience, though! Listen to Warren’s audio interview about doing makeup for television here.
2. On my lunch break, I sat in on a free screening at the Nat Geo theatre in DC. It was a random idea that turned out to be an hour well spent.
3. I went to a blogger event at Arundel Mills, and for the first time in awhile, I felt like I needed to shop! I love this Romeo and Juliet bag I found at Last Call Neiman Marcus. It was $100, plus an additional 40% off. It seems perfect for carrying my notebooks/ipad/lunch/laptop charger and all the other crap I lug around daily. I’ll give you the scoop on our visit later this week.
4. Fresh doughnuts at the Baltimore farmer’s market! Oh yeah! Yumma yumma. Find out more about this on my food blog, Bread, Butter, Wine.
