I’m not sure if you know this or not, but my favorite part of blogging is interviewing makeup artists. Even more than that, I love interviewing celebrity makeup artists. Why? Well, some tend to think that because these celebs make millions of dollars, they are wearing the creme de la creme of makeup at all times. But in actually, most of the time, they’re wearing the same products that we wear. For instance, here’s a shot of Janet Jackson at the AMFAR event a couple of weeks ago.
So naturally, I shoot him a text and ask what he did and how he did it. He told me that on her lips, she’s wearing MAC Melon Pigment as a highlight on her lips. GTFOH. Didn’t look like that to me, but it was. And that’s what’s so interesting! You might have never guessed it. I sure didn’t. He was running out the door and didn’t have time to tell me exactly what shades he used, but he was kind enough to shoot me this picture:
Also, here’s some other info:
- He absolutely lives and breathes for Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. While they are a little pricey, he says a little goes a long, long way, and it stays on forever.
- YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipglosses are another favorite of his. Another long lasting product with outstanding pigment. He urged me to purchase.
- I’m not totally sure, but I think he uses Studio Fix to highlight.
