Becca Cosmetics Mega Sale: Stick Foundations, Glosses, Powders and More

So I’m rushing out of the house the way that I normally do, but one last Faceboook check reveals a sudden glory–Becca has a ton of stuff on sale. From what it looks like, it’s all being discontinued. One of my greatest prized possessions are my Becca glosses. I only own about five, mostly because they are on the expensive side (as far as my collection stands). However, they’re on sale for $14 now, so I think I’ll get a couple more. They are bold enough to easily wear alone, but just sheer enough to wear over lipstick.  I can tell you that the swatches below are a little lighter than what they should be. Sugar Plum is a tad darker.

They’ve got all kinds of stuff on sale, and there really is A LOT up for grabs. Here’s the Last Chance section on Becca’s website.

VIDEO: The Gold Smokey Eye Look That I Loved…But Forgot About!

Back in the day, when I had a ton of time and my creative juices were constantly flowing, I had a few go to looks. But somewhere, somehow, they disappeared from memory. I’m not entirely sure how this happens. So I was going through my Youtube videos the other day, and I found the gold look based on a tutorial by Scott Barnes. I instantly fell in love again. (So in love, in fact, that I’m pretty sure I’ll be rocking this to graduation.) I was doing variations of the look all the time, no matter where I went. I’d do the look with browns, golds, purples, greens, blues–you name it. It’s one of those looks that isn’t hard to do, and it’s neutral enough that you can wear it day or night. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to get the look, step-by-step.

BTW, If you don’t have Saucy Eye Shadow duo by L’Oreal HIP, I need you to run out and get it. Immediately.

By the way, I’ve got less then a week left to go until graduation. I’ve got a list of video tutorials and reviews that I’ll be putting together on my Youtube channel. Let the games begin!

MAC Riri Woo Swatch and Ruby Woo Comparison

MAC Riri Woo Swatch and Ruby Woo Comparison

Earlier today, I took a picture of Ruby Woo and Riri Woo side by side. As you can see, they’re very, very close. Some say they are identical. My makeup buddy Meagan says “Riri Woo is much more blue & is a true red, while Ruby Woo is more warm, less cool.” I’m no makeup expert, any my eye for detail has never been that fantastic. However, these are just too close for me to really be able to tell the difference. I’ll be wearing them interchangeably.

Did you get a tube of Riri Woo lipstick? Based on the image, do you think they’re the same color, or is there a difference?

Sample provided by the brand for blog consideration.

MAC Riri Woo Lipstick ImageYES. YES. YES.

Rihanna fans and red lipstick lovers all over the world are doing backflips right now.  MAC Riri Woo lipstick ($15) debuts online May 2nd, plus at Barclays Center, at the M·A·C Pop-Up Store for concert ticket holders. One thing is for sure–this is going to sell out FAST. *All I see is signs, All I see is dollar signs*

What I’m Trying, Vol 0001: Estee Lauder, Clinique and Pure DKNY

Pure DKNY, Clinique Wash Away Cleanser, Estee Laude Daywear

So here’s my beauty freak blogger conundrum. Do I replenish the products that I’m satisfied with, or do I try something new? I ran out of moisturizer and left my cleanser at my boyfriend’s house, so it was time to get some more stuff. I spent an hour or so looking at the travel beauty sets (or in my mind, sample packs) on Neiman Marcus and Sephora.

I’ll be real with ya. I am an immediate gratification kind of girl. I’d rather take the drive to the mall then order online, even with the free shipping and samples (most of the time).

Since I was in a pinch, I thought I’d run over to my local Arundel Mills CCO and grab a few things. I can’t go wrong with Clinique’s Wash Away Gel Cleanser. It’s one of the few cleansers that makes my skin feel really clean every time I use it. No matter if I take a month off from using it, or a few years, I always seem to come back.  As far as moisturizer, I remember plenty of women using Estee Lauder DayWear. If I worked 4 days a week, someone purchased a jar of this 3 times a week. Regular price is $48, I paid $38.

Pure DKNY was one of those fragrances that I received a sample of, and I fell in love with it. I’m never really sure how to break down the notes and tones and yada yada of a fragrance, but this just takes me to that Spring Summer feeling Jilly from Philly sang about. This little 1.oz scent spray was $20. They had more sizes, but I never finish fragrances, so it worked out.

Get The Look: Queen Latifah’s Bold CoverGirl Queen Concert Look

Hey everyone! I was so excited to jump in my inbox today and get this step-by-step breakdown of Queen Latifah’s White House look! Here’s are the details, straight from makeup artist Monifa Mortis:

I wanted to focus on giving Queen a dramatic eye look to compliment her beautiful black and white gown.

To start apply COVERGIRL Queen Collection All Day Stay Flawless 3-in-1 Foundation in Toffee (Q820) all over the face. Apply a pale pink blush on the apples of the cheeks and then apply bronzer around the forehead and jaw line. I recommend using Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow (140) and Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer in Brown Bronze (Q110).
