I Love This Look: Lala Celebrates her 33rd Birthday with Brunch and X-Rated Fusion Liqueur at Bagatelle LA

Lala Anthony's Makeup At Her Birthday Brunch in Yellow Dress with X-Rated Fusion

same day payday loan

I haven’t blogged in a week. I still can’t believe that! Midterms are over, my power is back on, and life is settling back down. We had a weekend from hates, but the past is the past. Let’s talk about Lala’s uber hot birthday brunch outfit at Bagatelle LA.

I love this look for a couple of reasons. This dress hugs all of Lala’s curves, and there’s no cleavage or butt shots. It’s trendy chic without over doing it. Last night, I watched the BET awards, and women worked EXTRA hard to display all of their assets. I mean really, is nothing sacred?

Lala’s hair and makeup are subtle, perfect for work or play, and could go with any outfit. While her brows are clean and arched, they aren’t heavily traced in NC2O concealer. Her face is naturally matte, not packed with powder. The transparent pink lip brightens her up (as if the dress didn’t) but doesn’t scream “HEY! I’M A PINK LIP!” Check out the multi-colored ombre nails!

Erin’s Outfit of The Day: African Print Tube Dress

Dress: Cynthia Rowley via Gilt, Blazer: BCBG, Wedges: Steve Madden

I never really do fashion posts, because I don’t own enough clothes! I wore this to a work event, the Oyin Handmade “Your Hair is Awesome” bash. This was the ensemble I had chosen to wear for the IFB Conference earlier this week, but rain didn’t go well with this outfit. Justin, aka Metropolitan Boy, aka my stylist, told me to wear this today. I love it!

I Love This Look: Solange Knowles at Gilt City Event

Solange at Gilt City

Solange Gilt City

If there are three things I love, it’s eye-popping bold prints, a red lip and Solange! Here’s a picture of the gutsy Knowles at the GILT CITY Jade Jagger Fashion Week Soiree this Saturday. This lip reminds me a lot of the MAC Post Paradise lipstick that I posted earlier today.

CB2, You’re Giving Me Natural Hair Inspiration

Dear CB2,

I’ve been an avid fan of your products since I stumbled upon your shop in NYC.  You’re products are all over my vision board.  In fact, I’ll be picking up some products at your new Georgetown location in a few weeks.  So, I tra-la-la’ed onto your website the other day and saw the perfection that is pictured above.  The Summer color scheme. The roof-top city image. The absolutely gorgeous brown girl with the sexy ‘fro! CB2, thank you!

Fan for life,

Erin

Revamping My Closet: Closet Inspiration!

I am the proud owner of a smallish closet.  I don’t have a walk-in, but I do have a 3 door sliding closet. Very 80′s. I have grand dreams of moving into my Baltimore City chick pad and turning one of the smaller bedrooms into a lavish walk in closet. But, oh yeah, I barely own any clothes.  It’s all on my vision board, of course.

Edit: The images below are not from my closet! Each of the pictures are links to the blogs that they came from. If these were my closet, believe me, I wouldn’t need to revamp! : )

c/o Cupcakes and Cashmere

I was reading a closet organization post by Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere. Good grief. J’adore!

Here’s a few other blogs with beautiful inspirational closets:

Revamping My Closet: Classic Jeans by Levi’s + My 1st Braid Out

I’m claiming a lot of things in 2011.  But to do these things, I’ve got to look good (among other things). Thus, I need to get my wardrobe in check (on a very limited budget)! I’m quick to buy a new lipstick or run to Startbucks or Chick-Fil-A, but I rarely shop for clothes! This year, I’d like a solid wardrobe of dresses, shoes (pumps and flats), cardigans, undies, jeans, the works.

My new Levi's jeans
I purchased 2 pairs of jeans from Levi’s, the 531′s and 551′s.  I love them!  They fit beautifully, I don’t get out of breath trying to pull them up, and they won’t go out of style. I’ve never been to the retail store, but I’ve been stalking the website for a few days now.  I see the collection is much larger online, but I’m hoping to go to the store next week and try a few different  styles and washes.

In the video, you’ll notice I’ve got some rhythm to my hair. I tried a loc braid out on wet hair for the first time! I was very happy with the definition. By the time I created this video, I had my hair out for 5 days. The whole goal of this was to wash my hair and not have to retwist my hair (I’m lazy). I made some mistakes, and can’t wait to try again and perfect it!
