Today I took a trip down memory lane. I looked at some of my old pictures from my Fotki account, the picture album site. Before blogs were big, we were all of forums and Fotki’s! In the picture above, I’m wearing MAC Patina eye shadow on the inner lid, and a touch of Femme Noir on the outside. I tended to always wear to shadows in a similar format.

I had a few albums–neutrals, bold, wild, lashes, random. And I realized some things that worked well for me. I have since ventured out, but here’s how it usually went.

Yet another product that made me gasp when I saw it. I mean really, look at how vivid this is! I can’t even! I waited for a couple of days so I could take pictures before I swatched the product. Remember MAC Hullaballoo High-Light Powder from ’06? It had that fantastic sheen on the top, and underneath it was an average blah powder? Well, Glorifiy isn’t like that.

Oh, sweet Jesus, this lipstick is just TOO good. I have swatched more lackluster lipsticks than I can count, and those pictures never make it on the blog. Heroine, one of four lipsticks in the “Reel Sexy” collection, is a stunner. It’s a matte lipstick that’s absolutely jam-packed with color!  You all know that Violetta (view swatches here) was my favorite purple ever, but Heroine is definitely taking its place. It would look outstanding underneath Afrobella’s All My Purple Life lipglass!

By the way…

So sorry that I don’t have a swatch of me wearing the lipstick, I have a small parasitic twin growing on my face blemish that isn’t camera friendly.

MAC Chestnut Lip Liner Dupe

I happen to  have 4 MAC Chestnut lip liners in my collection. I’m a hoarder that way. Many of them are years old, replacements of lost pencils (that I later found) etc. And then, low and behold, I stumbled upon NYX lipliners. I’m almost positive I bought my first one at the beauty supply store when I was stocking up on false lashes. I’m not crazy about everything that NYX makes, but these are spot on.
