FOTD: Style Warriors!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. MAC Style Warriors is the brown girl’s best friend! Here’s my look…

NC50 Studio Tech (I don’t use this too often, because it makes me look greasy after a few hours, but damn it looks great on!)
Plum Foolery Blush

Bright Future e/s (Inner and Mid Lid)
Coppering e/s (Outer Lid)
Vibrant Grape e/s (Lower Lashline)
Ardell #217 Lashes
Embark e/s (Brows)

Lip Conditioner (Couldn’t decide what to wear on the lips!) I ended up switching the lip color quite a few times. I wore Brave New World with Mad Cap Lipglass for a few hours. I also ended up rocking both Gold Rebel and Liberated glosses, with Bronze Shimmer lipstick. This collection didn’t bore me as much as I thought it would. Good job on the collection, MAC!

The upcoming collection is Naked Honey, debuting June 11th. MAC doesn’t even give us time to replenish the bank account! It’s a mini-collection, but from what I’ve seen, you’re going to love it! My review on the products are right around the corner!

On the hair tip, I washed my hair and tried to re-twist my locs. Clearly, I failed. They unraveled the next day, and they are frizzy! I hear that is part of the loc process, however. Much to my surprise at work today, the co-workers said that my hair almost looks completely loc’ed! That’s so exciting! I even have updated picks from just a few hours ago here on my locs album!

ColourReady FOTN

I can’t believe I had the nerve to re-create this look, but it was SO beautiful! My eye and the model’s eye look COMPLETELY different. Mine has much more space, so much in fact that I had to extend the lid area. This look took me upwards to an hour to create, scouring my kit for duplicate products! The lips were a real challenge because I wanted my lips to remain matte, and I had to use a flat eye liner brush to make the sharp corners.

The MAC Coulour Ready collection is a compilation of skincare items including a pore and line filler and transparent powder as well as various lipsticks, eye shadows and my beloved Penultimate liner. Definitely more info to follow.

All products are MAC unless otherwise noted!

The Pink Lip Series: Gladiola by MAC

I’m starting to adopt a new ideal: Wait a few weeks after a collection has come out, let the drama and over-analysis die down, then make the purchase! I got Gladiola Lipstick from the Dame Edna Collection on Saturday. I don’t even remember hearing a lot of hoopla about this collection, and I largely overlooked it. But yesterday while at the counter, I swatched the lipstick and flipped out over how fabulous it was! Gladiola is a creamy matte hot pink that would naturally scare anyone away. But it was just too perfect to pass out. Warren and I went to the Estelle and Solange concert in Baltimore, and I opted for a soft matte face to go with my matte lip. Sooner or later, I’ll figure out how to work with these powders and foundations that are full of talc so I can have less ghostly pictures. I swear, my skin was fierce in real life!
