It should come as no surprise that I’m over the moon about Make Up For Ever. This particular lipstick was highly pulicized as part of the MUFE Moulin Rouge collaboration. It’s not as exciting in the tube..

Get The Look: Naturally Chic Keyshia Cole

08 February 2009 - Beverly Hills, CA - Keyshia Cole at the Russell Simmons and US Magazine host 2009 Grammy Awards Post Party at a Private Residence. Photo Credit: Byron Purvis/AdMedia Photo via Newscom Photo via Newscom

I’m so sorry for the hiatus! School and work have been at an all time high, and I didn’t want to just throw anything up on the blog.  I’ve done a few videos though, I hope you have seen them!

Does everyone LOVE this look? This is a really old picture, but the look is so classy for Keyshia, so I had to post it.  Plus, the makeup is impeccible.

Eyes- Use a lighter gold or frosty beige on the lid. Keyshia doesn’t have much lid space, but as we can see here, the crease is the real star. I’ve been a total Stila junkie on and off. Try  Stila Cosmetics eyeshadow in Copper in the crease. Also notice that the eyebrows are naturally chiseled to perfection, with no highlight.

Skin – This highlight and contour is a dream come true.  The inside of her face is lighter, while the perimeter of her face is darker. This could have been accomplished with foundations, powders or bronzers.  I love it. My vote, of course, is Make Up For Ever HD Foundation.  Who doesn’t want all natural foundation?

Lashes-Top and bottom lashes open the eye and give it so much more dimension. Even though MAC eyelashes are way more than I like to pay, the bottom lash reminds me of the #33′s. This is actually a lash for the lid, but no rules will be broken if you flip it around and use it below. Red Cherry lashes #48 and #43 are great choices for the top. They look way more dramatic on the site, but on the eye: perfection.

Lips-try my favorite Nars combination. Nars Lipstick in Honolulu Honey and Nars Lipgloss in Giza. It’s definitely the perfect peachy nude lip! Any soft brown liner will do.

Stila for HSN, Holiday 2010

Christmas in July is one of the perfect times of year! At the HSN offices in NYC, I had the chance to view many new kits for Holiday.  One that caught my eye was by Stila.  It’s my personal opinion that because Stila isn’t a NYC based company and doesn’t make everyone act as if they have to rip the runway.  It’s just not a brand that’s as big is it should be.  They’ve got some of the most pigmented products ever. I say this every time I talk about the brand.

This palette features 13 mini shadows and a mini-mascara.  You can purchase this in October for $35 at HSN.com!

In the meantime, check out the Backstage Eye Shadow Palette.  You get 6 insanely beautiful (and highly pigmented) shades in a convenient palette form for under $25.

Best of Stila Cosmetics

Stila Cosmetics is a brand with several cult favorite products.  It’s a brand that I’ve been using off and on for years.  While digging in my makeup collection a few weeks ago, I realized just how many Stila products I owned, and how I’m never disappointed with them!

Eye Shadows ($20)-Silky smooth and rich in color. I’ve been wearing La Douche on my eyes for a week straight. Kitten is the perfect pearly highlight. Twig is a must have as well.  Sam Fine is a big fan! There is a massive amount of color packed into these shadows, so use a little at a time!

Lip Glaze ($22)- These pen-like glosses are yet another favorite of mine! My favorites include Guava, Praline, Apricot and the infamous Brown Sugar! If you hurry, you can purchase the mini gift set for $25 at Sephora!

Smudge Pots ($20)-I’ve actually never tried these, but I read about them all the time.  People have sworn by them on my Twitter feed, and my fellow beauty bloggers can’t get enough either.  Check out these reviews at This That Beauty and Musings of a Muse.

Convertible Color ($25)-Since I’m all about multi-purpose cream color, these are high on my list.  They aren’t too thick and over pigmented, but give you just enough of what you really need.

Long Wear Lip Color ($20)-I was sold the first time I tried it. Think of the most effortless looking lip imaginable.  There are almost comparable to lip crayons.  They stay on for hours and don’t dry your lips out!

Have you seen the Makeup Player?  You can download makeup tutorials to the mini-theatre in your Stila traincase!  Then, using the makeup provided, you can create the perfect look.  Now that’s innovative! For more information on Stila, check them out on stilacosmetics.com or sephora.com!
